ABOUT THE AUTHOR
Hi, I’m Anneka Demetriou— a children’s author, illustrator, and mum with a background in fine art painting. Since graduating in 2017, I’ve combined my love of storytelling with my passion for art (and my experience of motherhood!) to create books that nurture connection and spark curiosity in little ones.
I spent seven years working in an opticians, which gave me a real appreciation for visual development in babies — something that later inspired the illustrations for My Little Pot Plant.
I also write imaginative stories for 4–5-year-olds, filled with magic, warmth, and wonder. Alongside my creative work, I hold a certificate in childcare, which has deepened my understanding of early development and the kinds of stories that truly resonate with young children.
As a mum, I know how meaningful those quiet story moments can be. Whether its sharing a first book with a newborn or sparking the imagination of a curious preschooler, I love creating stories that bring families together and celebrate the joy of reading.
